Dr. Jonathan Mather
Dr. Mather was raised in Sweet Home, Oregon and later went on to complete both his graduate and undergraduate studies at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He has a B.S. in Vision Science (2010), with minor studies in German, and Doctorate of Optometry (2013). He moved to Nevada during his internship training with a focus on medical primary care while at the Reno Veteran’s Hospital and Eye Care Associates of Nevada; as well as gaining experience in private practice with Drs. Konig and Robertson in Fallon, NV. He lives in Carson City with his wife and son where he is a deacon at his local Living Stones Church. He also enjoys racquetball, gardening, woodworking, reading science fiction, and spending time with his family.
He is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease, a member of the American Optometric Association and the Nevada Optometric Association, where he serves on the legislative committee. He especially enjoys working with children and will do eye exams on them as early as 6 months of age. He also manages lazy eyes (strabismus) and poor vision (amblyopia) in children and adults.
